About the Course

This innovative degree extends the Civil Engineering Bachelor degree by including courses in Architecture from the Faculty of Built Environment. Civil engineers create and manage the infrastructure of our built environment, including bridges, roads and highways, tunnels, dams, ports and harbours, railways, water supply and sewerage schemes, irrigation systems and many other structures. The degree will lead to a professionally accredited Engineering qualification with a foundation in architectural principles and an understanding of both the architects role in construction and the connection between architects and engineers. It aims to inspire students to become conceptual thinkers with an appreciation for architectural beauty and the mathematical insight to challenge traditional boundaries of structural design.
