About the Course
From first year, you can choose to tailor the degree to your interests and career goals through primary streams in Health and Physical Education or Exercise and Sport Science. You can also choose a secondary study stream in a wide range of areas including Rehabilitation Sciences, Sports Coaching, Outdoor Education, Health Promotion, Nutrition or Advanced Exercise and Sport Science. During your first year of study, you will develop a strong foundation in: human anatomy and physiology human movement professional practice health and physical activity growth and motor development group and team psychology. Second year studies will focus on: motor learning nutrition exercise physiology biomechanics During your final year you will complete a placement aimed at developing your industry skills as a human movement practitioner, in addition to core courses in sociology and a range of chosen stream or elective subjects to tailor the degree to your career goals. This degree teaches you practical skills and effective communication skills to facilitate interaction with a range of clients and peers, complete client screening, conduct laboratory and field testing, interpret scientific research and design and implement physical activity, exercise and training programs.
