La Trobe’s Bachelor of Nursing helps you transition seamlessly from university to a career in nursing. You’ll gain the knowledge and practical skills you need to succeed as a valued healthcare professional. You’ll study long-term chronic illness care, Indigenous health, biosciences, emergency healthcare and mental health care. In first year, your hands-on experience begins at our on-campus clinical learning units. In all three years, you’ll practice in real-world hospital and healthcare settings. As a La Trobe nursing student, you’ll learn how to care for people of all ages and make ethical, clinical decisions with a compassionate and caring approach. You’ll also develop important professional skills such as time management, team leadership and caseload management.
