Biomedical scientists provide the foundation of modern healthcare and assist in developing treatments for diseases. Through cancer screening, diagnosing HIV, designing new drugs and managing food poisoning and infection control, biomedical scientists are making incredible advances in modern medical science. Working in partnership with doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals, they carry out clinical tests, evaluate the effectiveness of treatment and research the causes and cures for disease.
