About the Course
This course will qualify you as a primary school teacher (Foundation/Pre-primary to Year 6) with a comprehensive understanding of childhood development and learning. You’ll focus on the interface between play-based learning and intentional teaching, with a special emphasis on the skills children need in developing literacy and numeracy, and be introduced to the breadth of learning required of children including science, the humanities and social science, the arts, and health and physical education. There will be opportunities to practise your teaching skills in authentic settings throughout the course and in professional practice placements.
