South Australia’s National Innovation Visa (NIV)
No Points Required! No Age Limit! PR for the Whole Family in One Step! NSW just turned on the green light, but South Australia rolled out the red carpet—Australia’s National Innovation Visa (NIV) now open to global elites!
In this unpredictable era, many people consider migration not because they’re “not good enough,” but because they want a better life.
More freedom to grow, a slower pace of life away from burnout, a safer environment for the family, and a more international, diversified education pathway for their children.
But the problem is—even if you are outstanding, the right pathway isn’t always available.
Just days ago, NSW announced it would open the National Innovation Visa (NIV) in July. Yesterday, South Australia followed immediately, opening applications. The message from both states is clear:
“Australia is competing for global talent — and that means you.”
If you have solid achievements in research, entrepreneurship, investment, or the creative industries—and you’re looking to build a better future for yourself and your family—this pathway deserves your full attention.
What is the NIV?
The National Innovation Visa (Subclass 858) is a direct PR (permanent residency) visa designed specifically for Global Talent. It differs significantly from regular skilled migration:
- No points test or EOI ranking
- No age limit
- Bring spouse and children – PR in one step
- Dual pathways: federal and state nominations
South Australia has officially opened its nomination stream. Below is a full breakdown of the nomination policy and application pathway.
South Australia’s Six Global Talent Categories
SA’s government has defined six nomination streams targeting internationally recognized high-caliber individuals. These streams focus on results, not just potential—you must show what you’ve already accomplished.

Your international award may be your golden ticket.
If you’re in arts, music, design, or film, provide:
Evidence of international achievements, such as:

5. Interdisciplinary Talents
Not in the fields above? You may still qualify.
If you’ve made globally recognized or unique contributions in any other professional field:
